Making & Using Placement Overlays in Applique
by Becky Goldsmith of Piece O' Cake Designs

I have always been inspired by Piece O' Cake Designs. In fact, they were the original source that inspired my love of appliqué. I still do all of my appliqué by hand, using many of the techniques that I learned from Linda and Becky! If you are new to needleturn appliqué, I highly recommend their DVD titled "Learn to Applique the Piece O' Cake Way," available on their website.

But in the meantime, we are honored to have Becky contribute an article on making and using placement overlays in appliqué to our Appliqué University site. This technique is instrumental in achieving precise placement of your appliqué. And Becky's illustrations and clear explanation make it a "piece o' cake" to learn! Thanks, Becky!
